What do you love about what you do?

Contrary to popular belief, public accountants do not sit and “crunch numbers” all day long. If that was true, I would not be in the profession of public accounting. I love relationships involved in my work. Obviously and most importantly, there are the relationships that we have with clients as well as their boards of directors, personnel, and other advisors. The internal relationships are a key to our success as well. We have been blessed to be able to attract and retain an outstanding team of individuals at Summers McNea. They share the same ideals of quality client service that have been key to our success and they make this a great place to work. And finally, I love working with numbers and the relationships those numbers have to our clients and their financial situation.

What’s your experience?

31 years in public accounting of which 29 have been with Summers, McNea.

What are your career strengths?

Audit and accounting, and technology

What’s important to you away from the office and what type of activities do you participate?

The most important things in my life are my wife and an active, teenage son. Need I say more! When I do get some free time, I enjoy working with my hands around the house, we love to travel, I keep trying to learn how to golf, and, much to DeAnn’s chagrin, Jordan and I enjoy sports.
